by Claire Cawte
Claire’s playful cutlery is simply a joy to behold. She collects moss and lichen covered sticks whilst out walking which she then uses as handles for whimsical felted utensils. Forks, spoons, brushes and even pasta strainers of varying sizes are placed side by side to create charming compositions, harking back to a time when homes were decorated with simple crafts made from materials prevalent on the doorstep.
Based in Cardiff, Clare specialises in slow textiles. Her practice demonstrates a commitment to sustainability whilst celebrating the endless resources found in nature.
Claire is happy to make bespoke felted cutlery pieces to order. Please contact us for further information.
