March (Celandines in the sunken lane) – Linocut Print
The third in a series of linocut prints created by Sophie over the course of a year. Sophie would not be tempted to second guess her subject matter for each coming month, but instead would wait with eager anticipation to see what inspiration nature would provide.
March’s gifts were Celandines, a carpet of bright yellow flowers along the floor of an ancient sunken lane. Perhaps the flowering of Celandines each year could become a gentle reminder of your forthcoming anniversary; and this print - a thoughtful memento of your happy day.
Each design is carved from a single block, and then printed by hand onto cotton paper using an antique press. This print is available in green - chosen to reflect the particular time of year – and black.
